Parabolic Bamboo

Parabolic Bamboo began with an in-depth exploration of traditional Thai crafts and materials, focusing on bamboo and basket weaving. Through material research and experimentation, the project translates these techniques into a contemporary interior design concept. Situated in New York City’s iconic Flatiron Building, the design emphasizes layered, structural, and textural experiences, integrating bamboo and string elements to create a cohesive and immersive environment for a hotel program with reception, café, restaurant, and resident lounge areas.
